At the beginning of the year I decided to blog about my goals. I’ve always made resolutions and I’ve always broken them. But what about goals? Goals are not ambiguous; they are more specific and intentional. So how am I doing?
Family goals: Keary had a 4 day weekend and we did something fun every day. I sent 2 or 3 encouraging text/facebook posts to Keary and the kids. (Yeah)
Financial goals: We paid extra on two bill, increased our 401k contribution by 1% and I put away $10 on the 52 week savings challenge. (happy dance)

Health goals: I didn’t do very well. This month I ate poorly and did not exercise. So I changed the eating goal a little. I plan to make one healthy substitution in my cooking each week. So this week, I plan to make mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes. (I don’t know how my “man of steel” will like this. He is a meat and potatoes man, not a meat and cauliflower man. We shall see!
Home goals: On the home front, I took 5 boxes of books to Half Price books and made $35. Keary bought 2 books there and I bought 2 from Amazon. So that’s a plus. Remember I am a book hoarder so I am definitely making headway. I plan to tackle all the kitchen cabinets and drawers this week. Do I really need 25 steak knives?
Professional goals: I posted 8 posts to my blog in January so I need to step it up a bit. I have been praying about upgrading my blog and I need to get more content written before I proceed. I did set up a twitter account but have yet to post on it. (Does that count?)
I have been praying about my book and researching so I’m making a little progress there.
Overall I have done fair this month. But the wonderful thing about goals is that I can keep working on them. I have not failed!
Remember Lamentations 3:21-23 (NKJV)
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Thank you GOD for your mercies that are new every morning. I will not fail nor give up because God has not given up on me!
